Indiana Veterinary Imaging (IVI) is a radiographic consultation and mobile ultrasonography company serving small animal veterinarians in the Greater Indianapolis and surrounding areas. The company was established in 2011 and is independently owned and operated by Dr. Jim Naughton.

IVI provides responsive, high-quality, on-site ultrasonography services in the convenience of your hospital. This can be advantageous to you and your hospital in several ways. Your patients and clients need not travel to other facilities or referral hospitals to receive advanced imaging by a board-certified radiologist. The radiologist can come to you. This is not only beneficial to the patient’s health but may ease stress on the client as well. Additionally, keeping the patient in your clinic not only reduces patient and client stress, but allows treatment in your hospital, as many of the cases you would normally refer may not need additional specialized care once a diagnosis is made. Biopsies, fine needle aspirates and fluid samples can be collected at the time of the exam (provided appropriate bloodwork/coagulation screening has been performed). Finally, immediate reporting of results improves case management and efficiency, and ultimately, animal health.

Appointments can generally be scheduled at an optimal time for the patient, client and clinic. Same day service may be possible.

ULTRASONOGRAPHY: abdominal, thoracic, musculoskeletal and single organ (thyroid/parathyroid, reproductive tract, urinary tract, etc,) with immediate reporting by Dr. Naughton.

ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY: heart and visible associated structures. Preliminary findings are reported at the time of the exam. Official echocardiography reports are made by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist for each exam and reports are usually available within 12 hours of the exam.

TISSUE SAMPLING: core biopsies, fine needle aspirates and fluid centesis can be performed at the time of the exam for more expeditious diagnosis and treatment.

RADIOGRAPHIC/ULTRASOUND INTERPRETATION: whether you would like interpretations of all of your studies or an occasional second opinion, we provide timely reporting of either analog or digital submissions. Reports are returned within 12 hours of receipt of the study, but turnaround is usually much shorter. Call, email or visit our website for more information.
